Rye — the land. Hem — the craft.

 Ryehem is a slow fashion brand inspired by Lithuania’s heritage and built on the belief that a garment should mean so much more than a piece of fabric. 

Every piece is handcrafted - conceived with intention, constructed with care, and finished with the kind of attention that can only come from someone who has loved the craft since childhood. 

The name Ryehem brings together two worlds: 

rye, for the rye fields and forests of Lithuania, the land that shaped and inspired this creative journey. 

hem, for the final stitch that completes a garment's story. 

Together, they are a quiet declaration that nature and craft are simply inseparable. 

The Living Thread 

Ryehem was born from a sacred memory: my grandmother sewing during the times of scarcity - from necessity and dignity, not luxury. This image never left my eyes and became the foundation of Ryehem: a belief that clothing made with your hands, from natural materials, with genuine care - is one of the most enduring things a person can create. 

I call it the Living Thread. The idea that every garment connects the hands that made it to the person who wears it, and beyond - to the generations of makers who understood that anything created with patience, care, and love is destined to last. 

What we make 

Ryehem creates everyday garments and accessories designed not for a single season, but for many years of wear. 

At the moment, our collection includes handcrafted cotton bags - quilted, embroidered, and sewn from carefully selected natural fabrics. 

We are also working on our very first clothing collection, featuring linen trousers, wrap skirts, dresses, and coats that will soon become part of the Ryehem world. 

How we work 

Everything is made in a small studio. Patterns are drafted by hand, fabrics are carefully selected for their natural beauty and longevity, production is intentionally slow. 

Ryehem is a one-person operation, which leads to every order being handled with care, and every piece leaving the studio having been touched by the same hands that imagined it, designed it, and brought it to life.
